Projects build on the experience gathered in the sphere of strengthening the rule of law in the country in the past ten years. By operating at grass-root level while simultaneously promoting central mechanisms, the envisaged activities aim at providing a significant contribution to ongoing efforts to reform the criminal justice system through civil society’s engagement for a more transparent and inclusive delivery of justice. Specifically, the project promotes judicial system reforms by enhancing the access justice and the transparency of the criminal justice system through free legal aid, court representation, trial monitoring and capacity building. In this sense, activities pursuing compliance with the rule of law are instrumental for promoting security at the local level by helping to restore a sense of justice among the population and trust towards the institutions.
