The OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine (SPU) is implementing the Project “Support to Environmental Rehabilitation with focus on Building National Humanitarian Mine Action Capacities of Ukraine” in partnership with the National Mine Action Authority (NMAA), Ministry of Defence (MoD), Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources, State Special Transport Service (SSTS) and State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) as well as Mine Action Centre (MAC) and Humanitarian Demining Centre (HDC).
The Project aims to enhance Ukraine's capacity for conducting humanitarian demining operations. By facilitating training for national specialists, the OSCE is establishing a strong foundation for developing the country's own humanitarian demining capabilities. To train national humanitarian demining specialists it is planned to engage a training company that will provide series of EOD 1-3 trainings in Ukraine in line with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) for the MoD, National Police, SSTS and SESU specialists. The trainings should provide knowledge that will enable trainees to conduct render-safe procedures and final disposal of a wide range of specific types of explosive ordnance (EO) on which an individual shall be trained.
