The OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine (SPU) is implementing Project “Enhancing Ukraine’s Chemical Emergency Response Capacity” to support an integrated approach to chemical safety and security, and enhance Ukraine’s capacity to respond to emergencies involving hazardous chemicals. The Project envisages strengthening capacity of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) and State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU) to respond to chemical incidents and co-ordinate chemical emergency response.
In order to improve SESU’s and SBGSU’s technical capabilities to efficiently respond to emergencies involving hazardous substances, the Project foresees procurement and provision of chemical emergency response equipment (personal protective apparel and decontamination equipment) to SESU’s and SBGSU’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) response units:
LOT I – Supply and Delivery of Chemical Protection Apparel (CBR tactical protection coverall sets; gas masks with filter; respirators with changeable filters)
LOT II – Supply and Delivery of Decontamination Equipment (decontamination cabins; portable decontamination systems with liquids).
